Today freelance makeup artist Audrey of Makeup by Audrey has three ideas for fun makeup sets to add to your Christmas list.

Three Fun Makeup Sets to Add to Your Christmas Wish List

I have such a weakness for makeup sets. They usually suck me in with beautiful packaging then seal the deal by offering a skilful price.

During a recent visit to Sephora (ahem, purely for educational purposes), I discovered a agglomeration of fun makeup sets that tickled my fancy. Did I need any of them? No. But did I want them? Of class! And guess what? It's that perfect fourth dimension of twelvemonth for frivolous expenses!

To help you write your alphabetic character to Santa (or exist a gift-giving Santa yourself!), here are my superlative three favorite makeup kits this holiday flavor:

Benefit Cosmetics Her Name Was Glowla Benefit Cosmetics Her Proper noun was Glowla $36 Benefit delivers nevertheless another cutely packaged set (although let'due south face up it, not very durable or travel friendly) designed to give you a glowing face up. It'south quite comprehensive with a set up of very pretty shimmery eyeshadows in neutral shades, the pop Coralista blush, mascara, and a coral lipgloss. It even boosts the "glow" gene with a set of Loftier Beam and Moon Beam highlighters.

This kit is very novice-friendly as it includes a fold out instruction card that shows step by step where you would place each of the products, even describing which applicator should be used! Speaking of which, it should too be noted that this ready includes a chroma brush and a double ended eye shadow brush. In my experience, these are decent brushes that are definitely usable and non the "throwaway" kind yous usually become in other sets.

Who Would Dear This Gift: Pretty much whatever gal! The colors are universal and would make a bang-up daytime look for anyone.

Smashbox Eye Wish Palette Smashbox Eye Wish Palette $45 My optics were offset drawn to the stunning aureate packaging of this eye palette. After a closer await, I vicious in beloved with the mix of shades and finishes. It comes with 12 eyeshadows, and you'll probably never approximate which one is my favorite. Prepare? The matte bone shade! — otherwise known equally the most boring color in the set. Just it is as well the shade that I use 99% of the time on my browbone. I'm all for experimenting, only it's as well squeamish when you lot can practice a consummate eye look with one palette and they almost never include that basic matte shade. It'due south usually all shimmer city, and I'm not actually ane to bust out disco ball eyes.

The bottom four shades are cream eyeliners that tin also be used equally bases. One drawback is that this kind of packaging is not ideal for creams as they're more probable to dry out. Yous'll take to exist careful with that. This kit really thought of everything and even includes mascara and the always-essential eyeshadow primer (I take the total-size version at home — works slap-up, but might be a little drying).

The big bonus here? Similar to the Benefit kit, this 1 also comes with instructions. The departure here is that Smashbox provides a set of instructional eye charts for 10 unlike looks that are all nicely stored in a little slot nether the mirror.

Who Would Dear This Gift: The sultry, sexy gal who knows how to rock a smoky eye and loves to experiment with different kinda of colorful looks.

Too Faced Pixie Perfect Collection Too Faced Pixie Perfect Drove $42 One time once again, I was drawn to the cute packaging of this makeup set up by Too Faced. The quilted, decorated example makes a perfect "on the go" makeup purse. They likewise did a slap-up chore with on the products. I really like the bronzer/blush duo — the blush coincidentally looks very like to the Do good Coralista chroma mentioned in a higher place. Also similar to Benefit, they included their own pop mascara too as a pretty coral lipgloss. And, of course, Too Faced made sure to include a miniature version of their flagship product, Eyeshadow Insurance (a primer which works well and, to the point above, isn't drying).

I was actually intrigued by the eyeshadow quad. You have a matte taupe shade and two shimmery shades of brown that I think could work well for both daytime and nighttime looks. But I was truly fascinated by the fourth shade. It's hard to tell in the picture here, only it's basically a cream color with tiny flecks of gold. Now to be honest, I commonly stray abroad from whatsoever shadow with any kind of chunky glitter in information technology (I'1000 looking at yous, Urban Decay!), but this is very fine and delicate, like pixie dust! Would I wear information technology to piece of work? No mode! Only to a holiday party? Near definitely!

Who Would Love This Souvenir: The girly girl who loves to glow *and* sparkle. 😉

Have yous tried any of these? If so, delight let me know what you think!

I would also dear to know if in that location'south any makeup on your Christmas wish list this year! Do tell.
